October 16, 2008Vocalist Amanda Somerville has been forced to cancel her previously announced guest appearances with Dutch symphonic metallers EPICA "due to family matters." EPICA says in a statement, "We wish her all the best and we hope to share the stage with her soon again."
The affected dates are as follows:
Oct. 16 - Paard van Troje - Den Haag, The Netherlands
Oct. 17 - Effenaar - Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Amanda Somerville is the American singer-songwriter and vocal coach who was tapped to replace EPICA vocalist Simone Simons on the band's North American tour with SYMPHONY X due to Simons' health issues.
A Michigan native, Amanda has resided and worked mainly in Germany and the Netherlands since 1999. She has collaborated with several bands in the metal scene (EDGUY, AFTER FOREVER, EPICA, KAMELOT, etc.) along with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro, and co-wrote the rock opera "Aina". Her own music is of the pop-rock genre and she is currently focusing on her solo career.
Somerville made an appearance on stage with EPICA on July 26, 2008 at the Rockin' Field Festival in Milan, Italy. Watch footage of the performance below (courtesy of Italian news blog Musica Metal).
